Photo Non-Contest #186 -- Past Its Prime

Written Inc's theme this week is "past its prime."
I've chosen a lovely old truck on Antelope Island, which is in the middle of the Great Salt Lake.

  1. I do like your pick for this theme....I can just smell the inside...(those old trucks just have a certain smell to them...) usually pretty darn nice! It reminds me of my grandfather and his place in the desert in Arizona! Nice choice of building up the photo with a view of the wonderful mountains in the back ground too!

    1. Well, it's pretty hard to get a landscape shot in Utah without mountains..... so I'm not sure I can take much credit for that. :)

  2. Great one for "Past its prime!" That vehicle just seems to be sinking down into the earth. Bet it could tell some tales!

  3. I thought the same as Gilly - if only that truck could talk! I bet it’s seen some service.

  5. You don't have the room for another vehicle!

  6. It would have been even better if the fence had not been there. Great selection.

    1. Hmm.... I'm afraid I disagree. I think the fence matches the truck nicely. Plus, it puts the truck in context; this was a farm, after all.

  9. Being in the middle of the Great Salt Lake, I'm surprised the truck is still relatively in one piece! These old trucks always bring a smile to my face, because they remind me of my childhood summers, bouncing down a country dirt road with my uncle. :-)
