The weather has finally cooled off! And I celebrated by taking a brief visit to Red Butte Gardens on Saturday.
I wasn't the only one celebrating. There were plenty of children playing in the rattlesnake fountain in the children's garden. I caught this little girl in mid-flight from her sister who was flipping her with water.
I love the shadow and how it almost touches her toe. :)
The bumble bees seemed to be celebrating as well.
And possibly even the gnomes were celebrating.
I walked about a bit, taking snaps of big red flowers
and cactus.
Then I walked up the creek under the shade of the scrub oak.
It was a good way to spend an hour of my afternoon.

That picture of the little girl is awesome. Like you said, her and her shadow's toes just barely apart. Great closeup of the bumble bees too. But garden gnomes have always creeped me out a bit.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen "Gnomeo and Juliet"? ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. The little girl shadow shot is perfect. The bumblebees, too! Real proof of the need to enlarge to see the photo at its best.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Max - the gnome is horrific. But then, so is the pun!
:)
I love the action shot of the girl and her shadow. For some reason, it made me think of Peter Pan and how they stitch their shadows on.
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought of Peter Pan also. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, we showed "Gnomeo and Juliet" to the students as a reward near the end of school. Funny show. But they still creep me out.
